The Turn

It's started, the time of year when the days get shorter, the temperatures start to drop, the lake water is warmer than the air, the lake glows orange as the sun peaks between the trees ,the trees hold on to the cold damp air from the night before, for a little longer each, morning . It gets easier to wake-up, the air is crisp, it smells different, it smells, clean.

The crisp air turns the forest into a warm inviting place, with colors that you can feel. These colors, so brilliant, the fog surrounding them glows until the rising sun chases the it into hiding as it warms the air and your face. You can't help but smile.

The air begins to cool, the fog comes out of hiding for the night, the water is smooth as freshly fallen snow. Every around you is glowing, your smiling.
